The Lumpy Space Princess Influence

Beanie- Amazon
Headphones- Comic Con
Top- Urban Outfitters
Skater Skirt- EBay
Leggings- EBay

Lsp from Adventure Time is sassy, independent and a writer like myself. I love her, she is hilarious and is probably my spirit...alien? Anyway, when times like comic con roll around I need to be controlled when I see merchandise of her. So here's a sort of casual cosplay of all the things I have of her. The headphones were £22 at comic con and were surprisingly cheaper than online The beanie was a Christmas gift from my boyfriend and the leggings are a Black Milk dupe from EBay which are so comfy and really cute, she has so many different expressions.

The High Roll and Black Dress Combo.

Crop Top roll Neck- ASOS
Black 90s dress- ASOS
Shoes- Primark (old)
Rings- Thrifted

One thing I'm really going to miss about living in Belfast is the fact that I can go to the cinema for £3.50 on a Tuesday and £4 on any other day. My favourite cinema on Dublin Road will always be in my heart when I have to begrudgingly pay £8 for a cinema ticket in Leeds. Last summer I paid that and nearly dropped, not even the Odeon here is that expensive, how do people cope? I know its just a small thing but its part of a bigger movement of what I'm going to have to adapt to alongside train stations (we have 4 platforms for all of NI and a train to Dublin), bus prices, no student discount and the price of cheese now I actually have to pay for it. Being an adult is hard.

Anyway, this whole combo is of course from the greatest online shop in existence, ASOS. I literally buy everything of it but hey, that's just me. This shirt is cropped and I'm not a fan of the material but I think paired with this 90s style dress it works quite well and adding my studded boots and little 90s bun just gives in a grungy edge that I just want to wear always. I'm not a very cool person, at best I'm cute so pulling off this sort of grunge look can be quite difficult but I think I've done ok at this.

The Levi Denim Jacket

Denim Jacket: Thrifted
Dress: Asos
Badges: Thrifted/Etsy
Watch: Local Market
Necklacce: Urban Outfitters

I've been a bit bored in recent weeks because I have no work to do. I have nothing to worry about, no essays to get marks back on, no revision, no books for read, its just very strange that for the first time in 17 years I haven't got school. Is this boredom a normal part of adulthood? I don't know, I'll keep you posted unless I've lost it to cabin fever. Also I should mention I graduate in three weeks and I got a 2:1 which is awesome but I suppose I'm officially an adult now, no more student and most importantly no more student discount which breaks my heart. But alas, I'll cope, somehow.

Anyway, this jacket is one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobes. I love it so much. Thrifted a few years ago from a local vintage shop in Belfast it has done be proud over the years. I think it was about £20 and I wear it with everything. I added the patches myself and though the studs I added to the lapels are beginning to fall off it's still great. Added with my white converse, my thrifted leather bag and a plain black dress from ASOS its a fun outfit that if I could would wear every day.

My High Waisted ASOS Mon Jeans Dilemma

Jeans- Asos
Top- Asos (old)

Leather Jacket- Asos
Bag- Vintage
Necklace- Urban Outfitters (old)
Sunglasses- Vintage

I’m not exactly the skinniest girl. My sizes range from a size 14 to a size 18 and I’m 5ft 11” so finding clothes can be a bit frustrating at times, I’m looking at you Primark and your 'high waist' jeans. However, one idea that I began toying around with is the idea of mom jeans. I like the way they look on people, I like that they aren’t tight around the legs and would be different from my normal skinny jeans. I also liked that they were actual denim and would hug my bum really well. However, the one issue I was most afraid of was that they were high-waisted. What if it showed my tummy? What if all I was left with was a massive bulge? The point of mom jeans was to tuck things into them and pull off an androgynous look, what if it just looked awful? In retrospect, I know I probably needed a good slap for thinking this stuff but I still have a lot of body hang ups I’m trying to rectify and at the time these were enough to put me off.

However, in my trusty ASOS wishlist there sat a pair of blue mom jeans that'd I'd been watching for months. The sale rolls around and I decide to bite the bullet only to find the only sizes left are 26s (this was in the curve section). However, I then spotted a pair of rosebowl mid wash jeans from the normal ASOS collection and decided to give them a go. For £17 it was a bargain and
I mean the model looked good why couldn’t I? I got the 18 though I could have went down to a 16 (they were sold out :( ) because there is a bit of room but they do make them more comfortable. They hug me in the right places and though I do have a bit of a bulge from my tummy it isn’t half as bad as I thought it would look. I love them and they give me confidence I didn’t know I had because I just feel really cool in them even when I’m a huge nerd. Paired with my mickey mouse body I found at the back of my wardrobe and my trusty leather jacket they're such an easy thing to style. I'll more than likely buy more high-waisted things in the future because of this experience so yay!
